Wednesday, January 15, 2014 ~ Our Canadian Government
End of Semester: After our discussion this afternoon we have decided to choose one of the two options to complete instead of a final exam.
Option 1: Individual Research Paper (4-6 pages) on a topic of your choice. This will include having the following:
a. Proper Thesis Statement, (your paper may be an opinion statement if you like!)
b. Research Notes/Brainstorming of ideas,
c. Edited Good Copy
d. Bibliography
Option 2: Pair Project Presentation on a topic of your choice, however it must not be the same as anyone else's topic!
a. Brainstorming Ideas and Presentation Plan (who is doing what, how are you going to present your information?)
b. Must be properly edited
c. Bibliography - cite all resources used including video clips, pictures...)
1. Class Discussion: Differences between Provincial and Federal government in Canada, ideas around democracy and what it means to us, why should we be active citizens in our Canadian democracy, what do we value the most as Canadian citizens????

2. Important Terminology ~ Handout: you may do this in pairs as there are many terms. Use the web to complete chart.
